Brighton Hourly Sketches

Went to a friend’s wedding in Brighton recently and decided to stay up through the night, doing a post-it sketch every hour of where ever I’d wandered to by that point and posting it on twitter, until people started getting back up. Starting at 2 am at a pub / club (The Globe, IIRC).

Seemed like a good idea at the time, but I’d forgotten how cold my fingers would get.

This doesn’t happen.

They do not make good use of the things that they find.

Gulls continue their march inland to rip open bin bags and scatter litter across the streets like a naturally occurring antithesis to the idea of wombles. They also stamp on my roof and squawk and screech so as to keep me awake at ungodly hours. Which was the catalyst for this post-it sketch.

February 14th 2010

I carry a cigarette tin with recycled paper post-it notes in as a miniature sketchbook.

In acknowledgement of what today was I did these. Ink on paper, coloured up in photoshop.

I lost inclination to complete the second when I realised how much it looked like a bad T-shirt design.
